This documentary features first-person accounts from over 20 young people who live with mental health conditions, as well as opinions and insight from parents, teachers, friends, and healthcare providers. This film offers a peek into people's lives and their mental health challenges through stories of struggle, discrimination, hope, and resilience. Late Post - Hello from SkillsUSA State Leadership Conference at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI. We are proud that we, Barneveld School District, have 30 members competing against other students from throughout Wisconsin. SkillsUSA Wisconsin has almost 2,000 attendees this year, so we should see some tough competition throughout 71 contests. There is much to see and experience here while competing at SkillsUSA State! We met new people, watched competitions that we never thought existed, and had fun spending time together as a chapter at the end of our competing season for the school year. With much anticipation of getting to the next level, Nationals, we have been busy the past few months fine-tuning our skills to hopefully punch a ticket to Atlanta, Georgia, in June of 2023. WEDC invests in the Barneveld School District for fab lab equipment.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) announced today that Barneveld School District is the recipient of a state grant to fund a new fabrication laboratory (fab lab) facilities, which will equip Wisconsin students with essential skills for the 21st century’s global economy. Barneveld School District was awarded $20,000 to purchase a Laser Engraver. “In order for Wisconsin’s businesses to succeed, we need to build a workforce that’s prepared for an economy of the 21st century. Fab labs provide students with the skills, expertise, and equipment necessary to become the industry leaders of tomorrow,” Governor Tony Evers said. “We are proud to be awarding $560,053.00 in funds to 25 school districts today so that they can establish or expand their fab lab programs, which continue to benefit students, community members, and the economy through technical training, business partnerships, and innovation.”
This project will benefit the school district by allowing students access to modern manufacturing equipment that can prepare them, expose them, and get them interested in the skilled trades and STEAM-related careers.

Mr. Sturnick's Ecology, Geology, and Weather and Climate classes have been working on clean energy projects through Penny-Smart & Earth-Wise. This contest is an opportunity for students to create a compelling project about energy use in their school district. Students encourage their school district to form a Clean Energy Transition Team. The projects were on display for all students to view.

National Honor Society (NHS) membership has been the true mark of student achievement for over 100 years, but it goes far beyond a report card. By empowering, championing, and recognizing well-rounded students, NHS provides schools with a values-based framework to elevate a culture of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Earlier this week, Barneveld High School inducted six new members into its chapter. Congratulations!
