A huge thank you Barneveld Fire, Emergency Area Rescue Squad, and Police Department as well as Iowa County Coroner, Emergency Management and our local funeral home that made the mock accident a success for Barneveld High School students. The purpose of this event is to remind our students that many of the choices we make can have immediate consequences. As part of our commitment to safety, the school district will continue to work with these community organizations to remind us of safe choices like no texting and driving; wearing seatbelts in any moving vehicle; no drinking and driving; and following speed limits.

Barneveld School District and Staff Recognized for Outstanding Youth Apprenticeship Program Achievement The Barneveld School District is proud to announce its well-deserved recognition for excellence in Youth Apprenticeship programs, with a particular emphasis on the remarkable contribution of Angie Schulting, School Counselor. The district's commitment to fostering career development and educational excellence has resulted in being honored as one of the top-producing Youth Apprenticeship programs in southwest Wisconsin. The prestigious award is granted based on a rigorous evaluation criterion, considering the number of eligible students who participate in the program and successfully complete it. For the academic year 2022-23, Barneveld School District achieved an outstanding milestone with 22 students successfully participating in the program. This remarkable accomplishment represents approximately 31% of the eligible student population, a stark contrast to the statewide average participation rate, which stands at just 6%. This exceptional growth in Youth Apprenticeship participation highlights the district's dedication to providing students with valuable opportunities for career exploration and development. In the 2019-2020 school year, only 5 students were involved in the program, showcasing an impressive expansion over a short period. This remarkable achievement can be attributed to the unwavering commitment of the Career and Technical Education team, which goes above and beyond to offer Academic and Career Planning, career-relevant instruction, and student-focused guidance. Barneveld School District's success in Youth Apprenticeship programs is further bolstered by the invaluable support of local businesses. These businesses generously provide work-based learning opportunities that empower students to gain practical, real-world experience, aligning seamlessly with the district's mission of fostering well-rounded, career-ready graduates. The Barneveld School District expresses its sincere gratitude to all staff members who have played a pivotal role in achieving this remarkable distinction. Their dedication to students' futures and their unwavering commitment to educational excellence have made this achievement possible.
